3 Ways to Train For Ramadan

Posted by Buat Si Manja on

🌌The night preceding the day of 1 Rajab is 1 of the 5 nights in which du’as are not rejected.

“O Allah bless us in Rajab and Sha`ban and enable us to reach Ramadan!”

How are we able to perform well in Ramadan?

By preparing for it.

1️⃣ Pay attention to the bad deeds that we do even if it is unintentional and abstain from it. It is not the size of the sin but the one you disobeyed. Try to think about backbiting and slandering and it’s time to quit. Avoid bad thoughts of others. Don’t be quick to judge others. Look at our own sins and how much we fall short of our good deeds.

2️⃣ We commit ourselves to our Quran, by diligently making time for it even if it is half a page.

3️⃣ We cleanse our hearts by forgiving others and be good to everyone around us. Forgive others as how we want Allah to forgive us. Some of the legacy that we can practise from our Prophet s.a.w is to spend some time before bed to forgive others and sleep with a clean heart. Getting rid of grudges is part of Sunnah of the Prophet s.a.w.

Rajab is the key to the months of goodness which follow it. For that reason Imam Abu Bakr al-Warraq said: “In the month of Rajab you sow the seeds, in Sha`ban you irrigate them and in Ramadan you reap the harvest.” He also said: “Rajab is like a wind, Sha`ban is like a cloud and Ramadan is like rain.”
